The top half of the front page of the newspaper Brooklyn Daily Eagle has banner headline reading "Wall St. In Panic As Stocks Crash"' which describes the massive fall in stock value on what became known as Black Thursday, October 24, 1929. The stock market crash is often considered the starting point of the Great Depression, which lasted from 1929 to 1941. Other headlines recount an attempt to kill Italian Crown Prince Umberto (1904 - 1983) and a campaign finance scandal concerning American industrialist and later senator Joseph R. Grundy (1863 - 1961).

This is a picture of eroded farmland during the dust bowl. The picture symbolizes the struggle of the land and people during the Great Depression.

This picture represents the great depression to me. From my point of view it shows how women had to work very hard during this time to get money to provide for their family. To me it shows how the work was hard and women had to work in factories because they didn’t have a variety of jobs.

This picture may just look like a pile of hay stacked up but to me this is a perfect example of how the great depression impacted people. For example this hay looks like it is stacked up on the land of a farm and a farmer must tend to it. During the great depression the farmers had to overcome a lot because the economy was so poor. Farmers over produced their stock, (in the picture the height of the hay represents that). In conclusion to the naked eye this picture just looks like a lump of clay but in reality this is a very good example of the impact of the great depression.

This picture to me tells me that life was very hard. You can tell by the picture how people were living with no home. I mean they have a home but there is no way a human should be living in a place like that, there is no roof and no door, there is no walls good enough to protect them from the cold. So this picture to me tells me life was very hard during the great depression.

In this picture you can see that the people were tired of America and they wanted to leave because America had to many problems and they couldn’t live under the conditions of the depression so they decided to leave.

During the Great Depression American Citizens had to experience many different laws that tried to get rid of the Great Depression. The people started to realize that the America’s living standards were to high and they didn’t want to live here anymore. America was suppose to be this great country were people had good jobs and opportunities but they experienced bad moments in America.

The reason why I chose this photo is because I think it shows how hard times was for families. They didn’t have much or maybe any money at all. I also chose this photo because it’s a real photo that was taken during the great depression. It shows the way it looked during the 1920’s .The way the kids looked.

The great depression shown in this picture took a big toll on the American people.
This represents so much, no faith and no hope you see all that in their eyes. By looking at this picture I can tell the great depression was a hard time

What this picture means to me in the great depression is that this family is very poor. Most of them don’t have shoes on there feet and they have clothes that don’t even fit them. They have a very small House and eight of them live there. There home has only one floor and they all live have to sleep there. There is a lot of dry land so I don’t think that the father could farm anything. So how does he make money? How does he feed his family? He can’t even get shoes for his children. The great depression hit these people hard. Just like it did many people in this time. People didn’t eat, didn’t have clothes and some didn’t even have a home.

This picture is basically about how during WWI women were filling in the male positions because basically all men were fighting in the war, and a lot of women needed the money at the time.

This picture tells that a woman is heartbroken because of the great depression. She has a child that is in need of food. She need help from the government. There is a plat with nothing on it.

I see that the great depression has shatter people lives because of the great depression. Why didn’t the government do something before this happened to people.

This Picture Shows A Male And 2Females Looking At Something The Female In The Back Is Looking Like She’s Hidden. The Female In The Front Is Looking Like She’s Happy And The Male Is Looking Like He’s Tired Of His Job. I Chose This Picture Because It States To Me That Life Is Hard But You Still Got To Work Every Bit To Make It Through The Day. Even If U Don’t Get Paid A lot Or Get Paid At All Even If Your Clothes Don’t Fit Or They Look Dirty Don’t Let Nobody Stop You. This Picture Tells Me That The Great Depression Was Very Dirty And A lot Of People Was Treated Badly. It Also Shows Me That Back In The Day Times Were Hard.

In this photo, a woman is holding a baby while a young boy is laying his head
solemnly on his mother’s shoulder. They’re living in a shabby tent, wearing rags, and
had slightly bad hygiene, so this also represents that the family is poor. A reason
why I chose this picture specific, because of the mother. The mother’s expression
displays pain, suffering, and deep in thought wondering “How the family and herself
will survive through this hell?” Life for this family was jeopardized because of the
Great Depression.
